Kenya Airways Statement
Monday 17th, May, 2010…Kenya Airways would like to inform public of an incident in which the wingtip of its aircraft registration 5YKQH, a Boeing 737-700 operating as KQ554 to Kinshasa hit the tail of a Fly540 Aviation aircraft during line-up for take-off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 9:30 am local time today.
There were no injuries in this incident.
The incident has been reported to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) for investigation.
The aircraft sustained a minor scratch while the Fly540 aircraft had a minor damage on its tail stabilizer trim. The KQ engineers and the KCAA inspectors inspected the aircraft and cleared it as safe for operation following the incident.
