Kenya Airways welcomes the release of the final accident report on the tragic loss of its flight KQ507 a Boeing 737-800 aircraft on 5th May 2007 in Douala, Cameroon. The airline thanks the Cameroonian Accident Investigation Commission for the professional manner in which it has gone about this difficult and sensitive task.
In accordance with Annex 13 to the convention on International Civil Aviation, Kenya was accredited to the investigation through the Minister of Transport. The Government of Cameroon has since sent a copy of the accident report to the Government of Kenya.
We expect the Government of Kenya will avail the report to Kenya Airways following which we will be in a position to comment on the report in the next few days.
The families and friends affected by the accident remain in our thoughts and prayers and we deeply thank you for your understanding and patience as we bring this matter to a close.
