Update 2 - 2000hrs: Iceland volcanic eruption
Thursday 15th, April, 2010…Kenya Airways would like to confirm to its passengers, customers, the travel trade and the public that its flight KQ 117 operating from Amsterdam to Nairobi has now been cancelled.
This is due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland that has emitted clouds of volcanic ash towards European airspace leading to closure of some of European Airports amongst them London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol on safety grounds.
The airline’s staff in Amsterdam are making all possible efforts to contact all our booked customers with this information in order to minimize the inconvenience caused by this unavoidable occurrence.
