Kenya Airways Statement(2)
Tuesday February 09, 2010 - Kenya Airways would like to inform its passengers, customers, investors and the public of an incident on KQ614 to Mombasa from Nairobi, Kenya at 1845 hours local time.
The incident was caused by depressurization of the cabin causing the oxygen masks to be deployed on board.
The crew handled the incident in a safe and professional manner, landing safely at the Moi International Airport at 1900 hrs local time.
There were 115 passengers and 7 crew members on-board. The pilot landed the aircraft safely with no reported injuries to the passengers. All passengers and crew on-board disembarked and transferred to the terminal in the normal way. All the passengers are safe and Kenya Airways has launched investigation regarding the incident.
The airline has provided alternate arrangements and care to Nairobi bound passengers on KQ615 arriving in Nairobi at 0115 hrs local time.
Kenya Airways would like to thank the Moi International Airport management, the crew on board and all its customers for the cooperation, support and understating during this incident.
