Ndola is the third-largest city in Zambia, with a population of 774,757 (2007 estimate). Ndola lies 320 kilometers north of Lusaka.
It is the industrial, commercial, administrative and distribution on the Copperbelt, Zambia's copper-mining region, and capital of Copperbelt Province. It is also the commercial capital city of Zambia and has one of the three international airports, others being Livingstone and Lusaka. It lies just 10 km from the border with DR Congo.Ndola has huge limestone reserves which are believed to be among the most homogeneous of their kind in the world.
The town is the gateway to the mineral producing region of the country and there are many manufacturing industries located here. A fairly good sized city, it serves as the midway stop between Lusaka and Kitwe.
